Yooper. Outdoorsman. Father & Husband.
Some people climb corporate ladders. I build bridges. From ideas to results, from vision to revenue, from risk to reward.
If I’m being honest, I don’t know exactly how I ended up here, but here I am.
For most of my life, I thought I had the path figured out. Climb the corporate ladder. Become the CEO of a major outdoor brand. Win the game the way everyone says you’re supposed to.
But when I graduated from Michigan Technological University and moved away from the UP, the vision got blurry. The goals that once felt crystal clear suddenly didn’t feel like mine anymore.
What I did know was simple: I wanted to live in the UP. And I wanted to build things in the marketing world.
Along the way, I saw something that bothered me. The marketing world is full of big agencies delivering C+ work to their biggest clients and even worse work to the small businesses risking everything just to afford them. Don’t get me wrong, there are some great agencies out there. But for every great partner, there are five wolves waiting in the shadows to take your money and disappear.
What started as side projects turned into my life’s work.
I’ve led marketing at startups, private equity-backed companies, and major outdoor brands. I’ve built marketing plans from the ground up, scaled brands, and driven measurable results. I know where marketing dollars should go. I know how to turn attention into revenue. I know how to build momentum that actually scales a business.
At the risk of sounding arrogant, everywhere I’ve gone, I’ve won. I climbed the ladder. I had the roles and opportunities I thought I wanted. But somewhere along the way, my goals changed.
Now, what excites me most isn’t climbing higher. It’s helping others win. I want to bring everything I’ve learned back to the place that matters most to me — the UP — while working with businesses across the country that are serious about growth.
Anyone who bets on me gets more than a consultant. They get a partner.
I’ll treat your business like it’s my own. I’ll care about the results as much as you do. And I’ll bring a level of focus, honesty, and effort that no bloated agency could ever match.
Because my mission isn’t just to grow businesses, it’s to build legacies. And when my partners win, the legacy creates itself.
Understanding My Background
Startups, publicly traded conglomerates, private equity-backed companies, family-owned businesses, and everything in between. I have real world experience working for nearly every business model you can think of and bring an understanding of each situation’s unique challenges.
Tactacam - VP of Marketing, Hunt
At the time of my arrival, Tactacam had just received investment from a private equity group. In one year, I increased customer retention by 100%, grew email revenue by 70%, increased social engagement by 124%, and improved advertising click-through rates by 55% with only a 15% increase in ad spend. We were named #352 on the Inc. 5000 fastest-growing companies list and were primed for continued growth.
Moultrie - Sr. Director of Marketing
When I joined Moultrie, it was a company that was just another trail camera company on the shelf and struggling to find its identity. In 18 months, I drove the marketing to a place where Moultrie became the market leader in the space, surpassing my previous employer, Tactacam. With a refined brand identity and added personality, we increased social engagement by over 150%. We reached millions of people in a single year, with measurable sales returns through strategic partnerships with MeatEater, Seek One, Chris Bee, Field & Stream, and many others.
ProNav Marine - Brand and Sales Director
I started my career as the Brand Director of ProNav, a fishing technology start-up in Houghton, MI. From getting into Bass Pro to licensing with a major motor manufacturer, I know what it’s like to grind it out in small business.
Old Town Canoe & Kayak - Marketing Manager
America’s oldest canoe and kayak manufacturer, Old Town, was struggling to find a vision for the future. Through the Sportsman Series and the following limited-edition releases, I helped the brand go from bleeding money to becoming a profitable business for the first time in nearly 20 years.
Consulting
Consulting is something I did to fuel my passion on the side of my day job. From ice baths and collaborations with CrossFit to arrow and broadhead manufacturers, and even market research for local communities’ city planning, my expertise has touched numerous industries and brands of vastly different scales.
Volunteer
My volunteer work is foundational to who I am. Over the last year, I’ve dedicated free consulting hours to dozens of businesses and non-profits, including my time working with Copper Peak, the largest ski jump in the Western Hemisphere, located in Ironwood, MI.
